역대상 17장

 

After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, "Here I am, living in a palace of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent." Nathan replied to David, "Whatever you have in mind, do it, for God is with you." That night the word of God came to Nathan, saying: "Go and tell my servant David, 'This is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in. I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up out of Egypt to this day. I have moved from one tent site to another, from one dwelling place to another. 다윗은 자기의 왕궁에 살 때에 예언자 나단에게 말하였다. "나는 백향목 왕궁에 살고 있는데, 주님의 언약궤는 아직도 휘장 밑에 있습니다." 나단이 다윗에게 말하였다. "하나님께서 임금님과 함께 계시니, 무슨 일이든지 계획하신 대로 하십시오." 그러나 바로 그 날 밤에, 하나님께서 나단에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 내 종 다윗에게 가서 전하여라. Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their leaders whom I commanded to shepherd my people, "Why have you not built me a house of cedar?" ' "Now then, tell my servant David, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the pasture and from following the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name like the names of the greatest men of the earth. And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also subdue all your enemies. " 'I declare to you that the LORD will build a house for you: 내가 온 이스라엘과 함께 옮겨 다닌 모든 곳에서, 내가 내 백성을 돌보라고 명한 이스라엘의 어떤 사사에게, 나에게 백향목 집을 지어 주지 않은 것을 두고 말한 적이 있느냐?' 그러므로 이제 너는 내 종 다윗에게 전하여라. When your days are over and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor. I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever; his throne will be established forever.' Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said: "Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? And as if this were not enough in your sight, O God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You have looked on me as though I were the most exalted of men, O LORD God. "What more can David say to you for honoring your servant? For you know your servant, O LORD. For the sake of your servant and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made known all these great promises. "There is no one like you, O LORD, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears. 다윗 왕이 성막으로 들어가서, 주님 앞에 꿇어앉아, 이렇게 기도하였다. "주 하나님, 내가 누구이며 내 집안이 무엇이기에, 주님께서 나를 이러한 자리에까지 오르게 해주셨습니까? 하나님, 그런데도 주님께서는 이것도 오히려 부족하게 여기시고, 주님의 종의 집안에 있을 먼 장래의 일까지 말씀해 주셨습니다. 주 하나님, 주님께서는 나를 존귀하게 만드셨습니다. 주님께서 주님의 종을 아시고, 주님의 종을 영화롭게 해주셨는데, 이 다윗이 주님께 무슨 말씀을 더 드릴 필요가 있겠습니까? 주님, 주님께서는 주님의 종을 살피시어, 주님께서 세우신 뜻과 목적대로 하셨습니다. 주님께서 이처럼 크나큰 일을 하시고, 이 모든 일을 알려 주셨습니다. 주님, 우리의 귀로 다 들어 보았습니다만, 주님과 같은 분이 또 계시다는 말은 들어 본 적이 없고, 주님 밖에 또 다른 하나님이 있다는 말도 들어 본 적이 없습니다.

And who is like your people Israel--the one nation on earth whose God went out to redeem a people for himself, and to make a name for yourself, and to perform great and awesome wonders by driving out nations from before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt? You made your people Israel your very own forever, and you, O LORD, have become their God. "And now, LORD, let the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house be established forever. Do as you promised, so that it will be established and that your name will be great forever. Then men will say, 'The LORD Almighty, the God over Israel, is Israel's God!' And the house of your servant David will be established before you. "You, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a house for him. So your servant has found courage to pray to you. 이 세상에서 어떤 민족이 주님의 백성 이스라엘과 같겠습니까? 하나님이 직접 찾아가셔서 이스라엘을 구하여 내시고, 주님의 백성으로 삼아서, 주님의 명성을 드러내셨습니다. 그들을 이집트에서 구하여 내시려고 크고 놀라운 일을 하셨고, 주님의 백성이 보는 앞에서 뭇 민족을 쫓아내셨습니다. 주님께서는 이렇게 주님의 백성 이스라엘을 영원히 주님의 백성으로 삼으셨고, 주님께서 그들의 하나님이 되셨습니다. 주님, 주님께서 주님의 종과 이 종의 집안에 약속하여 주신 말씀이 영원토록 이루어지게 해주십시오. 주님께서 말씀하신 대로 해주십시오. 그리하여 사람들이 '이스라엘의 하나님은 만군의 주요, 이스라엘을 지키시는 하나님이시다!' 하고 외치며, 주님의 이름을 굳게 세우고, 영원토록 높이게 하시고, 주님의 종 다윗의 집안도 주님 앞에서 튼튼히 서게 해주시기 바랍니다. 나의 하나님, 주님께서 주님의 종에게, 이 종의 집안을 한 왕조가 되게 하시겠다고 계시하셨기 때문에, 주님의 종이 감히 주님께 이러한 간구를 드릴 용기를 얻었습니다.

O LORD, you are God! You have promised these good things to your servant. Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, O LORD, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever." 그리고 이제 주님, 주님께서는 참으로 하나님이십니다. 주님께서는 주님의 종에게 이와 같이 놀라운 약속을 하셨습니다. 그러므로 이제 주님의 종의 집안에 기꺼이 복을 내리셔서, 나의 자손이 주님 앞에서 영원토록 대를 잇게 해주시기 바랍니다. 주님, 주님께서 복을 주셨으니, 그 복을 영원히 누리게 해주십시오."
