역대상 22장

 

Then David said, "The house of the LORD God is to be here, and also the altar of burnt offering for Israel." So David gave orders to assemble the aliens living in Israel, and from among them he appointed stonecutters to prepare dressed stone for building the house of God. He provided a large amount of iron to make nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, and more bronze than could be weighed. He also provided more cedar logs than could be counted, for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought large numbers of them to David. David said, "My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the LORD should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it." So David made extensive preparations before his death. 그 때에 다윗이 말하였다. "바로 이 곳이 주 하나님의 성전이요, 이 곳이 이스라엘의 번제단이다." 다윗은 이스라엘 땅에 있는 외국인을 불러모으고, 석수들을 시켜서, 하나님의 성전을 지을 네모난 돌을 다듬도록 명령하였다. 그는 또 대문의 문짝에 쓸 못과 꺾쇠를 만들 철을 무게를 달 수 없을 만큼 준비하고, 놋쇠도 무게를 달 수 없을 만큼 많이 준비하고, 또 백향목을 셀 수 없을 만큼 준비하였다. 이 백향목은, 시돈 사람과 두로 사람이 다윗에게 운반하여 온 것이다. 다윗은 이런 혼잣말을 하였다. "나의 아들 솔로몬이 어리고 연약한데, 주님을 위하여 건축할 성전은 아주 웅장하여, 그 화려한 명성을 온 세상에 떨쳐야 하니, 내가 성전 건축 준비를 해 두어야 하겠다." 그래서 그는 죽기 전에 준비를 많이 하였다.

Then he called for his son Solomon and charged him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel. David said to Solomon: "My son, I had it in my heart to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God. But this word of the LORD came to me: 'You have shed much blood and have fought many wars. You are not to build a house for my Name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight. But you will have a son who will be a man of peace and rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon, and I will grant Israel peace and quiet during his reign. He is the one who will build a house for my Name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.' 그런 다음에, 다윗이 그의 아들 솔로몬을 불러서, 주 이스라엘의 하나님을 모실 성전을 지으라고 부탁하였다. 다윗이 아들 솔로몬에게 말하였다. "아들아, 나는 주 나의 하나님의 이름을 위하여 성전을 지으려고 하였다. 그러나 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 많은 피를 흘려 가며 큰 전쟁을 치렀으니, 나의 이름을 위하여 성전을 건축할 수 없다. 너는 내 앞에서 많은 피를 땅에 흘렸기 때문이다. 보아라, 너에게 한 아들이 태어날 것인데, 그는 평안을 누리는 사람이 될 것이다. 내가 사방에 있는 그의 모든 적으로부터, 평안을 누리도록 해주겠다. 그러므로 그의 이름을 솔로몬이라 지어라. 그가 사는 날 동안, 내가 이스라엘에 평화와 안정을 줄 것이다. 그가 내 이름을 위하여 성전을 건축할 것이다. 그는 내 아들이 되고, 나는 그의 아버지가 되어, 이스라엘을 다스리는 그의 왕위가 영원히 흔들리지 않고 튼튼히 서게 해줄 것이다.'

"Now, my son, the LORD be with you, and may you have success and build the house of the LORD your God, as he said you would. May the LORD give you discretion and understanding when he puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the LORD your God. Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. "I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them. You have many workmen: stonecutters, masons and carpenters, as well as men skilled in every kind of work 내 아들아, 이제 주님께서 너와 함께 하셔서, 주님께서 너를 두고 말씀하신 대로, 주 너의 하나님의 성전을 무사히 건축하기를 바란다. 그리고 부디 주님께서 너에게 지혜와 판단력을 주셔서, 네가 주 하나님의 율법을 지키며, 이스라엘을 잘 다스릴 수 있도록 해주시기를 바란다. 네가 주님께서 모세를 시켜 이스라엘에게 명하신 율례와 규례를 지키면, 성공할 것이다. 강하고 굳건하여라. 두려워하지 말고, 겁내지 말아라. 내가 주님의 성전을 지으려고, 금 십만 달란트와, 은 백만 달란트를 준비하고, 놋과 쇠는 너무 많아서 그 무게를 다 달 수 없을 만큼 준비하고, 나무와 돌도 힘들여 준비하였다. 그러나 네가 여기에 더 보태야 할 것이다. 너에게는 많은 일꾼이 있다. 채석공과 석수와 목수와 또 모든 것을 능숙히 다룰 줄 아는 만능 기능공들이 있다.

in gold and silver, bronze and iron--craftsmen beyond number. Now begin the work, and the LORD be with you." Then David ordered all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon. He said to them, "Is not the LORD your God with you? And has he not granted you rest on every side? For he has handed the inhabitants of the land over to me, and the land is subject to the LORD and to his people. Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the LORD your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the LORD." 금과 은과 놋과 쇠가 무수히 많으니, 일어나서 일을 시작하여라. 주님께서 너와 함께 하시기를 빈다." 그런 다음에, 다윗은 이스라엘 모든 지도자에게 그의 아들 솔로몬을 도우라고 당부하였다. "주 당신들의 하나님께서 당신들과 함께 계셔서, 당신들에게 사방으로 평화를 주시지 않았습니까? 그리고 이 땅 주민을 나에게 넘겨 주어, 이 땅 사람들을 주님과 그의 백성 앞에 굴복시키셨습니다. 이제 당신들은 마음과 정성을 다하여 주 당신들의 하나님을 찾고, 일어나서 주 하나님의 성전을 건축하십시오. 그래서 주님의 언약궤와 하나님의 거룩한 기구들을 옮겨 와서, 주님의 이름을 위하여 건축한 성전에 들여 놓도록 하십시오."
