여호수아 16장

 

The allotment for Joseph began at the Jordan of Jericho, east of the waters of Jericho, and went up from there through the desert into the hill country of Bethel. It went on from Bethel (that is, Luz), crossed over to the territory of the Arkites in Ataroth, descended westward to the territory of the Japhletites as far as the region of Lower Beth Horon and on to Gezer, ending at the sea. So Manasseh and Ephraim, the descendants of Joseph, received their inheritance. This was the territory of Ephraim, clan by clan: The boundary of their inheritance went from Ataroth Addar in the east to Upper Beth Horon 요셉 자손이 제비를 뽑아 나누어 받은 땅의 남쪽 경계는, 여리고의 요단 강에서부터 여리고의 샘 동편에 이르고, 여리고에서부터 베델 산간지방으로 올라가는 광야에 이른다. 그리고 베델에서부터 루스로 나아가서, 아렉 사람의 경계선을 지나 아다롯에 이른다. 서쪽으로는 야블렛 사람의 경계선으로 내려가서, 아래쪽 벳호론 경계선을 지나 게셀에 이르고, 그 끝은 지중해에 미친다. 요셉의 자손 곧 므낫세와 에브라임이 이 지역을 유산으로 받았다. 에브라임 자손에 속한 여러 가문이 받은 땅의 경계선은 다음과 같다. 그들이 받은 유산의 경계선은 동쪽으로 아다롯앗달에서 위쪽 벳호론에 이르고,

and continued to the sea. From Micmethath on the north it curved eastward to Taanath Shiloh, passing by it to Janoah on the east. Then it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah, touched Jericho and came out at the Jordan. From Tappuah the border went west to the Kanah Ravine and ended at the sea. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Ephraimites, clan by clan. It also included all the towns and their villages that were set aside for the Ephraimites within the inheritance of the Manassites. They did not dislodge the Canaanites living in Gezer; to this day the Canaanites live among the people of Ephraim but are required to do forced labor. 또 그 경계선은 서쪽으로 나아가 북쪽 믹므다에 이르고, 동쪽으로 돌아서 다아낫실로에 이르고, 그 곳을 지나 야노아 동쪽을 지난다. 야노아에서부터는 아다롯과 나아라로 내려가다가, 여리고에 미쳐서는 요단 강으로 나아가고, 또 답부아에서부터 서쪽으로 가서, 가나 개울을 따라 바다에 이르러 그 끝이 된다. 이것이 에브라임 자손의 지파에 속한 여러 가문이 받은 유산이다. 므낫세 자손의 유산 가운데는 에브라임 자손 몫으로 구별된 성읍들과 그 주변의 마을들도 있었다. 그러나 그들이 게셀에 사는 가나안 사람을 쫓아내지 않았으므로, 가나안 사람들이 오늘날까지 에브라임 지파와 함께 살며 종노릇을 하고 있다.
