신명기 22장

If you see your brother's ox or sheep straying, do not ignore it but be sure to take it back to him. If the brother does not live near you or if you do not know who he is, take it home with you and keep it until he comes looking for it. Then give it back to him. Do the same if you find your brother's donkey or his cloak or anything he loses. Do not ignore it. If you see your brother's donkey or his ox fallen on the road, do not ignore it. Help him get it to its feet. A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this. 당신들은 길 잃은 이웃의 소나 양을 보거든, 못 본 체하지 말고, 반드시 끌어다가 그 이웃에게 돌려주어야 합니다. 또 당신들은 그 이웃이 가까이에 있지 않거나, 누구인지 알지 못한다 해도, 그 짐승을 당신들의 집에 끌어다 두었다가, 그 주인이 찾을 때에 돌려주어야 합니다. 나귀도 그렇게 하고, 옷도 그렇게 하십시오. 그 밖에도 이웃이 잃은 것이 무엇이든지, 당신들이 발견하거든 그렇게 하고, 못 본 체하지 마십시오. 이웃의 나귀나 소가 길에 쓰러져 있는 것을 보거든, 못 본 체하지 마십시오. 당신들은 반드시 그 이웃을 도와 그것을 일으켜 주어야 합니다. 여자는 남자의 옷을 입지 말고, 남자는 여자의 옷을 입지 마십시오. 주 당신들의 하나님은 이렇게 하는 사람을 싫어하십니다.

If you come across a bird's nest beside the road, either in a tree or on the ground, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young. You may take the young, but be sure to let the mother go, so that it may go well with you and you may have a long life. When you build a new house, make a parapet around your roof so that you may not bring the guilt of bloodshed on your house if someone falls from the roof. Do not plant two kinds of seed in your vineyard; if you do, not only the crops you plant but also the fruit of the vineyard will be defiled. Do not plow with an ox and a donkey yoked together. 당신들은 길을 가다가, 어떤 나무에서나 땅에서 어미 새가 새끼나 알을 품고 있는 것을 만나거든, 새끼를 품은 어미를 잡지 마십시오. 어미 새는 반드시 날려 보내야 합니다. 그 새끼는 잡아도 됩니다. 그래야만 당신들이 복을 받고 오래 살 것입니다. 당신들은 집을 새로 지을 때에 지붕에 난간을 만들어야 합니다. 그렇게 하면, 사람이 떨어져도 그 살인죄를 당신들 집에 지우지 않을 것입니다. 당신들은 포도나무 사이사이에 다른 씨를 뿌리지 마십시오. 그렇게 하면, 씨를 뿌려서 거둔 곡식도 포도도 성물이 되어 먹지 못합니다. 당신들은 소와 나귀에게 한 멍에를 메워 밭을 갈지 마십시오.

Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together. Make tassels on the four corners of the cloak you wear. If a man takes a wife and, after lying with her, dislikes her and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, "I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity," then the girl's father and mother shall bring proof that she was a virgin to the town elders at the gate. 당신들은 양털과 무명실을 함께 섞어서 짠 옷을 입지 마십시오. 당신들은 당신들이 입은 겉옷 자락 네 귀퉁이에 술을 달아야 합니다." "어떤 남자가 여자를 아내로 맞아 동침한 뒤에, 그 여자가 미워져서 '이 여자를 아내로 맞아 가까이 하여 보았더니, 처녀가 아니었다' 하고 비방하며, 누명을 씌워 소문을 퍼뜨렸을 때에, 그 여자의 부모는, 그 여자가 처녀임을 증명하는 증거물을 가지고 성문 위의 회관에 있는 그 성읍의 장로들에게 가십시오.

The girl's father will say to the elders, "I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her. Now he has slandered her and said, 'I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.' But here is the proof of my daughter's virginity." Then her parents shall display the cloth before the elders of the town, and the elders shall take the man and punish him. They shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give them to the girl's father, because this man has given an Israelite virgin a bad name. She shall continue to be his wife; he must not divorce her as long as he lives. If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl's virginity can be found, 그 여자의 아버지는 장로들에게 이렇게 말해야 합니다. she shall be brought to the door of her father's house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done a disgraceful thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father's house. You must purge the evil from among you. If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel. If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death--the girl because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man's wife. You must purge the evil from among you. But if out in the country a man happens to meet a girl pledged to be married and rapes her, only the man who has done this shall die. 그 여자를 그 아버지의 집 문 앞에 끌어내고, 그 성읍의 사람들은 그 여자를 돌로 쳐서 죽이십시오. 그 여자가 자기 아버지 집에 있을 때에 음행을 하여, 이스라엘 안에서 수치스러운 일을 하였기 때문입니다. 그러므로 당신들은 당신들 가운데서 이런 악의 뿌리를 뽑아야 합니다. 어떤 남자가 남의 아내와 정을 통하다가 들켰을 때에는, 정을 통한 남자와 여자를 다 죽여서, 이스라엘에서 이런 악의 뿌리를 뽑아야 합니다. 한 남자와 약혼한 처녀를 다른 남자가 성 안에서 만나서 정을 통하였을 경우에, 두 사람을 다 성문 밖으로 끌어다 놓고, 돌로 쳐서 죽여야 합니다. 그 처녀는 성 안에 있으면서도 소리를 지르지 않았기 때문이요, 그 남자는 이웃의 아내를 범하였기 때문입니다. 그리하여 당신들은 당신들 가운데서 이런 악의 뿌리를 뽑아야 합니다. 어떤 남자와 약혼한 처녀를 다른 남자가 들에서 만나서 욕을 보였을 때에는, 욕을 보인 그 남자만 죽이십시오.

Do nothing to the girl; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like that of someone who attacks and murders his neighbor, for the man found the girl out in the country, and though the betrothed girl screamed, there was no one to rescue her. If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. A man is not to marry his father's wife; he must not dishonor his father's bed. 그 처녀에게는 아무 벌도 주지 마십시오. 그 여자에게는 죽일 만한 죄가 없습니다. 욕을 보인 남자의 경우는, 사람이 이웃을 해치려고 일어나 그 이웃을 살해한 것이나 마찬가지입니다. 그 처녀는 들에서 그 남자를 만났으므로, 약혼한 그 처녀가 소리를 질러도 구하여 줄 사람이 없었을 것입니다. 어떤 남자가 약혼하지 않은 처녀에게 욕을 보이다가 두 사람이 다 붙잡혔을 때에는, 그 남자는 그 처녀의 아버지에게 은 오십 세겔을 지불해야 합니다. 그리고 그 여자에게 욕을 보인 대가로 그 여자는 그의 아내가 되고, 그는 평생 동안 그 여자와 이혼할 수 없습니다. 아무도 자기 아버지의 아내를 취하지 못하며, 어느 누구도 아버지의 아내와 동침하지 못합니다."
