고린도전서 12장

Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 형제자매 여러분, 신령한 은사들에 대하여 여러분이 모르고 지내기를 나는 바라지 않습니다. 알다시피 여러분이 이방 사람일 때에는, 여러분은, 이리저리 끄는 대로, 말 못하는 우상에게로 끌려 다녔습니다. 그러므로 나는 여러분에게 알려드립니다. 하나님의 영으로 말하는 사람은 아무도 "예수는 저주를 받아라" 하고 말할 수 없고, 또 성령을 힘입지 않고서는 아무도 "예수는 주님이시다" 하고 말할 수 없습니다. 은사는 여러 가지지만, 그것을 주시는 분은 같은 성령이십니다. 섬기는 일은 여러 가지지만, 섬김을 받으시는 분은 같은 주님이십니다.

There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 일의 성과는 여러 가지지만, 모든 사람에게서 모든 일을 하시는 분은 같은 하나님이십니다. 각 사람에게 성령을 나타내 주시는 것은 공동 이익을 위한 것입니다. 어떤 사람에게는 성령을 통하여 지혜의 말씀을 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령을 따라 지식의 말씀을 주십니다. 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령으로 믿음을 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령으로 병 고치는 은사를 주십니다. 어떤 사람에게는 기적을 행하는 능력을 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 예언하는 은사를 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 영을 분별하는 은사를 주십니다. 어떤 사람에게는 여러 가지 방언을 말하는 은사를 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 그 방언을 통역하는 은사를 주십니다.

All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 이 모든 일은 한 분이신 같은 성령이 하시며, 그는 원하시는 대로 각 사람에게 은사를 나누어주십니다. 몸은 하나이지만 많은 지체가 있고, 몸의 지체는 많지만 그들이 모두 한 몸이듯이, 그리스도도 그러하십니다. 우리는 유대 사람이든지 그리스 사람이든지, 종이든지 자유인이든지, 모두 한 성령으로 세례를 받아서 한 몸이 되었고, 또 모두 한 성령을 마시게 되었습니다. 몸은 하나의 지체로 되어 있는 것이 아니라, 여러 지체로 되어 있습니다. 발이 말하기를 "나는 손이 아니니까, 몸에 속한 것이 아니다" 한다고 해서 발이 몸에 속하지 않은 것이 아닙니다.

And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 또 귀가 말하기를 "나는 눈이 아니니까, 몸에 속한 것이 아니다" 한다고 해서 귀가 몸에 속하지 않은 것이 아닙니다. 온몸이 다 눈이라면, 어떻게 듣겠습니까? 또 온몸이 다 귀라면, 어떻게 냄새를 맡겠습니까? 그런데 실은 하나님께서는, 원하시는 대로, 우리 몸에다가 각각 다른 여러 지체를 두셨습니다. 전체가 하나의 지체로 되어 있다고 하면, 몸은 어디에 있습니까? 그런데 실은 지체는 여럿이지만, 몸은 하나입니다.

The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 그러므로 눈이 손에게 말하기를 "너는 내게 쓸 데가 없다" 할 수가 없고, 머리가 발에게 말하기를 "너는 내게 쓸 데가 없다" 할 수 없습니다. 그뿐만 아니라, 몸의 지체 가운데서 비교적 더 약하게 보이는 지체들이 오히려 더 요긴합니다. 그리고 우리가 덜 명예스러운 것으로 여기는 지체들에게 더욱 풍성한 명예를 덧입히고, 볼품 없는 지체들을 더욱더 아름답게 꾸며 줍니다. 그러나 아름다운 지체들은 그럴 필요가 없습니다. 하나님께서는 몸을 골고루 짜 맞추셔서 모자라는 지체에게 더 풍성한 명예를 주셨습니다. 그래서 몸에 분열이 생기지 않게 하시고, 지체들이 서로 같이 걱정하게 하셨습니다.

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 한 지체가 고통을 당하면, 모든 지체가 함께 고통을 당합니다. 한 지체가 영광을 받으면, 모든 지체가 함께 기뻐합니다. 여러분은 그리스도의 몸이요, 따로 따로는 지체들입니다. 하나님께서 교회 안에 몇몇 일꾼을 세우셨습니다. 그들은 첫째는 사도요, 둘째는 예언자요, 셋째는 교사요, 다음은 기적을 행하는 사람이요, 다음은 병 고치는 은사를 받은 사람이요, 남을 도와 주는 사람이요, 관리하는 사람이요, 여러 가지 방언으로 말하는 사람입니다. 그러니, 모두가 사도이겠습니까? 모두가 예언자이겠습니까? 모두가 교사이겠습니까? 모두가 기적을 행하는 사람이겠습니까? 모두가 병 고치는 은사를 받은 사람이겠습니까? 모두가 방언으로 말하는 사람이겠습니까? 모두가 통역하는 사람이겠습니까?

But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way. 그러나 여러분은 더 큰 은사를 열심히 구하십시오. 이제 내가 가장 좋은 길을 여러분에게 보여드리겠습니다.
