마태복음 15장

Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!" Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.' But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is a gift devoted to God,' 그 때에 예루살렘에서 바리새파 사람들과 율법학자들이 예수께 와서 말하였다. "당신의 제자들은 어찌하여 장로들의 전통을 어기는 것입니까? 그들은 빵을 먹을 때에 손을 씻지 않습니다." 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "그러면 너희는 어찌하여 너희의 전통 때문에 하나님의 계명을 어기느냐? 하나님께서 말씀하시기를 '아버지와 어머니를 공경하여라' 하시고, 또 '아버지나 어머니를 욕하는 자는 반드시 죽을 것이다' 하셨다. 그러나 너희는 말하기를, 누구든지 아버지나 어머니에게 '내게서 받으실 것이 하나님께 드리는 예물이 되었습니다' 하고 말만 하면,

he is not to 'honor his father' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: " 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'" Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen and understand. 그 사람은 제 부모를 공경하지 않아도 된다고 한다. 이렇게 너희는 너희의 전통 때문에 하나님의 말씀을 폐한다. 위선자들아! 이사야가 너희를 두고 적절히 예언하였다. '이 백성이 입술로는 나를 공경해도, 마음은 나에게서 멀리 떠나 있다. 그들은 사람의 훈계를 교리로 가르치며, 나를 헛되이 예배한다.'" 예수께서 무리를 가까이 부르시고서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희는 내 말을 듣고 깨달아라.

What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.' " Then the disciples came to him and asked, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?" He replied, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Peter said, "Explain the parable to us." 입으로 들어가는 것이 사람을 더럽히는 것이 아니라, 입에서 나오는 것, 그것이 사람을 더럽힌다." 그 때에 제자들이 다가와서 예수께 말하였다. "바리새파 사람들이 이 말씀을 듣고 분개하고 있다는 것을 아십니까?" 예수께서 대답하셨다. "나의 하늘 아버지께서는 자기가 심지 않으신 식물은 모두 뽑아 버리실 것이다. 그들을 내버려 두어라. 그들은 눈 먼 사람이면서 눈 먼 사람을 인도하는 길잡이들이다. 눈 먼 사람이 눈 먼 사람을 인도하면, 둘 다 구덩이에 빠질 것이다." 베드로가 예수께 "그 비유를 우리에게 설명해 주십시오" 하고 청하니,

"Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them. "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.' " 예수께서 말씀하셨다. "너희도 아직 깨닫지 못하느냐? 입으로 들어가는 것은 무엇이든지, 뱃속으로 들어가서 뒤로 나가는 줄 모르느냐? 그러나 입에서 나오는 것들은 마음에서 나오는데, 그것들이 사람을 더럽힌다. 마음에서 악한 생각들이 나온다. 곧 살인과 간음과 음행과 도둑질과 거짓 증언과 비방이다. 이런 것들이 사람을 더럽힌다. 그러나 손을 씻지 않고서 먹는 것은, 사람을 더럽히지 않는다."

Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession." Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. 예수께서 거기에서 떠나서, 두로와 시돈 지방으로 가셨다. 마침, 가나안 여자 한 사람이 그 지방에서 나와서 외쳐 말하였다. "다윗의 자손이신 주님, 나를 불쌍히 여겨 주십시오. 내 딸이, 귀신이 들려 괴로워하고 있습니다." 그러나 예수께서는 한 마디도 대답하지 않으셨다. 그 때에 제자들이 다가와서, 예수께 간청하였다. "저 여자가 우리 뒤에서 외치고 있으니, 그를 안심시켜서 떠나보내 주십시오." 예수께서 대답하셨다. "나는 오직 이스라엘 집의 길을 잃은 양들에게 보내심을 받았을 따름이다." 그러나 그 여자는 나아와서, 예수께 무릎을 꿇고 간청하였다. "주님, 나를 도와주십시오."

He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs." "Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour. Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. 예수께서 대답하셨다. "자녀들의 빵을 집어서, 개들에게 던져 주는 것은 옳지 않다." 그 여자가 말하였다. "주님, 그렇습니다. 그러나 개들도 주인의 상에서 떨어지는 부스러기는 얻어먹습니다." 그제서야 예수께서 그 여자에게 말씀하셨다. "여자여, 참으로 네 믿음이 크다. 네 소원대로 되어라." 바로 그 시각에 그 여자의 딸이 나았다. 예수께서 거기에서 떠나서, 갈릴리 바닷가에 가셨다. 그리고 산에 올라가서, 거기에 앉으셨다. 많은 무리가, 걷지 못하는 사람과 지체를 잃은 사람과 눈 먼 사람과 말 못하는 사람과 그 밖에 아픈 사람을 많이 데리고 예수께로 다가와서, 그 발 앞에 놓았다. 그러자 예수께서는 그들을 고쳐 주셨다.

The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel. Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way." His disciples answered, "Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?" "How many loaves do you have?" Jesus asked. "Seven," they replied, "and a few small fish." He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. 그래서 무리는, 말 못하는 사람이 말을 하고, 지체 장애인이 성한 몸이 되고, 걷지 못하는 사람이 걸어다니고, 눈 먼 사람이 보게 된 것을 보고 놀랐고, 이스라엘의 하나님께 영광을 돌렸다. 그 때에 예수께서 제자들을 가까이 불러 놓고 말씀하셨다. "저 무리가 나와 함께 있은 지가 벌써 사흘이나 되었는데, 먹을 것이 없으니, 가엾다. 그들을 굶주린 채로 돌려보내고 싶지 않다. 가다가 길에서 쓰러질지도 모른다." 제자들이 예수께 말하였다. "여기는 빈 들인데, 이 많은 무리를 배불리 먹일 만한 빵을 무슨 수로 구하겠습니까?" 예수께서 그들에게 물으셨다. "너희에게 빵이 몇 개나 있느냐?" 그들이 대답하였다. "일곱 개가 있습니다. 그리고 작은 물고기가 몇 마리 있습니다." 예수께서 무리에게 명하여 땅에 앉게 하시고 나서,

Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was four thousand, besides women and children. After Jesus had sent the crowd away, he got into the boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan. 빵 일곱 개와 물고기를 들어서 감사 기도를 드리신 다음에, 떼어서 제자들에게 주시니, 제자들이 무리에게 나누어주었다. 사람들이 모두 배불리 먹었다. 그리고 나서 남은 부스러기를 주워 모으니, 일곱 광주리에 가득 찼다. 먹은 사람은 여자들과 아이들 외에도, 남자만 사천 명이었다. 예수께서 무리를 헤쳐 보내신 뒤에, 배에 올라 마가단 지역으로 가셨다.
