David summoned all the officials of Israel to assemble at Jerusalem: the officers over the tribes, the commanders of the divisions in the service of the king, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and the officials in charge of all the property and livestock belonging to the king and his sons, together with the palace officials, the mighty men and all the brave warriors. King David rose to his feet and said: "Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I had it in my heart to build a house as a place of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, for the footstool of our God, and I made plans to build it. But God said to me, 'You are not to build a house for my Name, because you are a warrior and have shed blood.' "Yet the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah he chose my family, and from my father's sons he was pleased to make me king over all Israel. Of all my sons--and the LORD has given me many--he has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. 다윗이 이스라엘의 모든 지도자, 곧 각 지파의 지도자와, 왕을 섬기는 여러 갈래의 지휘관과, 천부장과, 백부장과, 왕과 왕자의 재산과 가축을 관리하는 사람과, 환관과, 무사와, 모든 전쟁 용사를 예루살렘으로 불러모았다. 다윗 왕이 일어서서 이렇게 말하였다. "나의 형제자매인 백성 여러분, 나의 말을 들으십시오. 나는 우리 하나님의 발판이라 할 수 있는 주님의 언약궤를 모실 성전을 지으려고 준비를 하여 왔습니다. 그러나 하나님께서는 나에게 '너는 군인으로서 많은 피를 흘렸으므로, 나의 이름을 위하여 성전을 건축할 수 없다' 하고 말씀하셨습니다. 주 이스라엘의 하나님께서 나의 아버지의 온 가문에서 나를 왕으로 택하여, 이스라엘을 길이길이 다스리도록 하셨습니다. 주님께서는 유다를 영도자로 택하시고, 유다 지파의 가문 가운데서 우리 아버지의 가문을 택하셨으며, 우리 아버지의 아들 가운데서 기꺼이 나를 온 이스라엘의 왕으로 삼으셨습니다. 또 주님께서는 나에게 여러 아들을 주시고, 그 모든 아들 가운데서 나의 아들 솔로몬을 택하여, 주님의 나라 왕좌에 앉아 이스라엘을 다스리게 하시고,

He said to me: 'Solomon your son is the one who will build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. I will establish his kingdom forever if he is unswerving in carrying out my commands and laws, as is being done at this time.' "So now I charge you in the sight of all Israel and of the assembly of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God: Be careful to follow all the commands of the LORD your God, that you may possess this good land and pass it on as an inheritance to your descendants forever. "And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a temple as a sanctuary. Be strong and do the work." 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '너의 아들 솔로몬, 그가 나의 성전을 짓고 뜰을 만들 것이다. 내가 그를 나의 아들로 삼으려고 선택하였으니, 나는 그의 아버지가 될 것이다. 그가 지금처럼 나의 계명과 나의 규례를 힘써 지키면, 나는 그의 나라를 길이길이 굳게 세워 줄 것이다.' 이제 여러분은 온 이스라엘, 곧 주님의 회중이 보는 앞에서, 그리고 우리의 하나님이 들으시는 가운데서, 주 당신들의 하나님의 모든 계명을 열심히 따르고 지키십시오. 그러면 이 아름다운 땅을 차지할 수 있을 것이고, 이 땅을 당신들의 자손에게 길이길이 물려줄 수 있을 것입니다." "나의 아들 솔로몬아, 너는 네 아버지의 하나님을 바로 알고, 온전한 마음과 기쁜 마음으로, 정성을 다하여 섬기도록 하여라. 주님께서는 모든 사람의 마음을 살피시고, 모든 생각과 의도를 헤아리신다. 네가 그를 찾으면 너를 만나 주시겠지만, 네가 그를 버리면 그도 너를 영원히 버리실 것이다. 주님께서 성소가 될 성전을 짓게 하시려고 너를 택하신 사실을 명심하고, 힘을 내어 일을 하여라."

Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico of the temple, its buildings, its storerooms, its upper parts, its inner rooms and the place of atonement. He gave him the plans of all that the Spirit had put in his mind for the courts of the temple of the LORD and all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the temple of God and for the treasuries for the dedicated things. He gave him instructions for the divisions of the priests and Levites, and for all the work of serving in the temple of the LORD, as well as for all the articles to be used in its service. He designated the weight of gold for all the gold articles to be used in various kinds of service, and the weight of silver for all the silver articles to be used in various kinds of service: the weight of gold for the gold lampstands and their lamps, with the weight for each lampstand and its lamps; and the weight of silver for each silver lampstand and its lamps, according to the use of each lampstand; 다윗이 현관과 건물과 곳간과 다락방과 내실과 속죄판 등의 설계도를 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 주었다. 또 그가 영감으로 받은 모든 것 곧 하나님의 성전 뜰과 주위의 모든 방과 하나님의 성전 곳간과 성물 곳간의 설계도를 주었다. 또 제사장과 레위 사람의 갈래와, 주님의 성전에서 예배드리는 모든 일과, 예배에 쓰는 모든 기구도 설명하여 주었다. 또 모든 예배에 쓸 여러 금기구를 만드는 데 필요한 금의 무게와, 모든 예배에 쓰는 여러 은기구를 만드는 데 필요한 은의 무게와, 또 금등잔대와 금등잔의 무게와, 각 등잔대와 그 등잔의 무게와, 은등잔대도 마찬가지로 각 등잔대와 그 등잔의 무게를, 그 등잔대의 용도에 따라 알려 주었다.

the weight of gold for each table for consecrated bread; the weight of silver for the silver tables; the weight of pure gold for the forks, sprinkling bowls and pitchers; the weight of gold for each gold dish; the weight of silver for each silver dish; and the weight of the refined gold for the altar of incense. He also gave him the plan for the chariot, that is, the cherubim of gold that spread their wings and shelter the ark of the covenant of the LORD. "All this," David said, "I have in writing from the hand of the LORD upon me, and he gave me understanding in all the details of the plan." David also said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished. 또 상 위에 늘 차려 놓는 빵과, 차려 놓는 상을 만드는 데 필요한 금의 무게와, 은상을 만드는 데에 필요한 은의 무게도 알려 주었다. 또 고기를 건질 때에 쓰는 갈고리와, 대접과 주전자를 만드는 데 필요한 순금과, 금잔 곧 각 잔을 만드는 데 필요한 금의 무게와, 은잔 곧 각 은잔을 만드는 데 필요한 은의 무게도 알려 주었다. 또 분향단을 만드는 데 필요한 정련된 금의 무게와, 수레 곧 날개를 펴서 주님의 언약궤를 덮고 있는 그룹을 금으로 만드는 데 필요한 설계도도 알려 주었다. 다윗이 말하였다. "이 모든 설계에 관한 것은 주님께서 친히 손으로 써서 나에게 알려 주셨다." 다윗은 또 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 말하였다. "너는 힘을 내고, 담대하게 일을 해 나가거라. 두려워하지 말고 염려하지 말아라. 네가 주님의 성전 예배에 쓸 것들을 다 완성하기까지, 주 하나님, 나의 하나님이 너와 함께 계시며, 너를 떠나지 않으시며, 너를 버리지 않으실 것이다.

The divisions of the priests and Levites are ready for all the work on the temple of God, and every willing man skilled in any craft will help you in all the work. The officials and all the people will obey your every command." 그리고 제사장과 레위 사람의 갈래들이 하나님의 성전 예배에 관한 모든 일을 도울 것이며, 온갖 일에 능숙한 기술자들이 자원하여 너를 도울 것이며, 지도자들과 모든 백성이 너의 명령을 따를 것이다."
