사무엘하 7장

 

After the king was settled in his palace and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies around him, he said to Nathan the prophet, "Here I am, living in a palace of cedar, while the ark of God remains in a tent." Nathan replied to the king, "Whatever you have in mind, go ahead and do it, for the LORD is with you." That night the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying: "Go and tell my servant David, 'This is what the LORD says: Are you the one to build me a house to dwell in? 주님께서 사방에 있는 모든 원수에게서 다윗 왕을 안전하게 지켜 주셨으므로, 왕은 이제 자기의 왕궁에서 살게 되었다. 하루는, 왕이 예언자 나단에게 말하였다. I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling. Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their rulers whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, "Why have you not built me a house of cedar?" ' "Now then, tell my servant David, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the pasture and from following the flock to be ruler over my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men of the earth. And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me ; your throne will be established forever.' " Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation. Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said: "Who am I, O Sovereign LORD, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? And as if this were not enough in your sight, O Sovereign LORD, you have also spoken about the future of the house of your servant. Is this your usual way of dealing with man, O Sovereign LORD ? "What more can David say to you? For you know your servant, O Sovereign LORD. 네 집과 네 나라가 내 앞에서 영원히 이어 갈 것이며, 네 왕위가 영원히 튼튼하게 서 있을 것이다.'" 나단은 이 모든 말씀과 계시를, 받은 그대로 다윗에게 말하였다. 다윗 왕이 성막으로 들어가서, 주님 앞에 꿇어앉아, 이렇게 기도하였다. "주 하나님, 내가 누구이며 또 내 집안이 무엇이기에, 주님께서 나를 이러한 자리에까지 오르게 해주셨습니까? 주 하나님, 그런데도 주님께서는 이것도 오히려 부족하게 여기시고, 주님의 종의 집안에 있을 먼 장래의 일까지 말씀해 주셨습니다. 주 나의 하나님, 이것이 어찌 주님께서 사람을 대하시는 일상적인 방법이겠습니까? 주 하나님, 주님께서 주님의 종을 잘 아시니, 이 다윗이 주님께 무슨 말씀을 더 드릴 필요가 있겠습니까?

For the sake of your word and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made it known to your servant. "How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears. And who is like your people Israel--the one nation on earth that God went out to redeem as a people for himself, and to make a name for himself, and to perform great and awesome wonders by driving out nations and their gods from before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt? You have established your people Israel as your very own forever, and you, O LORD, have become their God. "And now, LORD God, keep forever the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house. Do as you promised, 주님께서 세우신 뜻과 목적대로 주님께서는 이렇게 크나큰 일을 하시고, 또 그것을 이 종에게까지 알려 주셨습니다. 주 하나님, 주님은 위대하십니다. 우리의 귀로 다 들어 보았습니다만, 주님과 같은 분이 또 계시다는 말은 들어 본 적이 없고, 주님 밖에 또 다른 하나님이 있다는 말도 들어 본 적이 없습니다. 이 세상에서 어떤 민족이 주님의 백성 이스라엘과 같겠습니까? 하나님이 직접 찾아가셔서, 이스라엘을 구하여 내시고, 주님의 백성으로 삼아서, 주님의 명성을 드러내셨습니다. 그들을 이집트에서 구하여 내시려고 큰 일을 하셨고, 주님의 백성이 보는 앞에서, 다른 민족들과 그 신들에게서 그들을 친히 구원하시려고 이렇게 큰 일을 하시었고, 주님의 땅에서 놀라운 일을 하셨습니다. 주님께서는 이렇게 주님의 백성 이스라엘을 튼튼히 세우셔서, 영원히 주님의 백성으로 삼으셨습니다. 또 주님께서 그들의 하나님이 되셨습니다. 주 하나님, 주님께서 주님의 종과 이 종의 집안에 약속하여 주신 말씀이 영원히 변하지 않게 하여 주십시오.

"O LORD Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, 'I will build a house for you.' So your servant has found courage to offer you this prayer. O Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your words are trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant. Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, O Sovereign LORD, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever." 그래서 사람들이 '만군의 주님께서 이스라엘의 하나님이시다!' 하고 외치며, 주님의 이름을 영원토록 높이게 하시고, 주님의 종 다윗의 집안도 주님 앞에서 튼튼히 서게 해주시기를 바랍니다. 만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님, 주님께서 몸소 이 계시를 이 종에게 주시고 '내가 너의 집안을 세우겠다!' 하고 말씀하여 주셨으므로, 주님의 종이 감히 주님께 이러한 간구를 드릴 용기를 얻었습니다. 그리고 이제 주 나의 하나님, 주님께서는 참으로 하나님이십니다. 주님께서는 언제나 약속을 지키십니다. 그리고 주님께서 주님의 종에게 이와 같이 놀라운 약속을 하셨습니다. 그러므로 이제 주님의 종의 집안에 기꺼이 복을 내리셔서, 나의 자손이 주님 앞에서 영원토록 대를 잇게 해주시기를 바랍니다. 주 하나님, 주님께서 직접 그렇게 약속하여 주셨으니, 주님의 종의 집안이 영원토록, 주님께서 내리시는 복을 받게 해주십시오."
