Then King David said to the whole assembly: "My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is young and inexperienced. The task is great, because this palatial structure is not for man but for the LORD God. With all my resources I have provided for the temple of my God--gold for the gold work, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron and wood for the wood, as well as onyx for the settings, turquoise, stones of various colors, and all kinds of fine stone and marble--all of these in large quantities. Besides, in my devotion to the temple of my God I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver for the temple of my God, over and above everything I have provided for this holy temple: three thousand talents of gold (gold of Ophir) and seven thousand talents of refined silver, for the overlaying of the walls of the buildings, for the gold work and the silver work, and for all the work to be done by the craftsmen. Now, who is willing to consecrate himself today to the LORD ?" 다윗이 온 회중에게 말하였다. "하나님께서 유일하게 선택하신 나의 아들 솔로몬은, 아직 어리고 경험도 부족합니다. 그런데 이 공사는 너무나 큽니다. 이 성전은 사람의 집이 아니고, 주 하나님의 성전이기 때문입니다. 나는 온 힘을 기울여, 내 하나님의 성전을 지으려고 준비하였습니다. 곧 금기구들을 만들 금과, 은기구들을 만들 은과, 동기구들을 만들 동과, 철기구들을 만들 철과, 목재 기구들을 만들 목재와, 마노와 박을 보석과 꾸밀 보석과 여러 색깔의 돌과 그 밖의 여러 보석과 대리석을 많이 준비하였습니다. 또 내가 하나님의 성전을 사모하므로, 내가 성전을 지으려고 준비한 이 모든 것 밖에, 나에게 있는 금과 은도 내 하나님의 성전을 짓는 데에 바쳤습니다. 오빌의 금 삼천 달란트와, 정련된 은 칠천 달란트를 바쳐 성전의 벽을 입히며, 금기구와 은기구를 만들며, 기술공이 손으로 만드는 모든 일에 쓰게 하였습니다. 오늘 기꺼이 주님께 예물을 바칠 분은 안 계십니까?"

Then the leaders of families, the officers of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and the officials in charge of the king's work gave willingly. They gave toward the work on the temple of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron. Any who had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the temple of the LORD in the custody of Jehiel the Gershonite. The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the LORD. David the king also rejoiced greatly. David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, "Praise be to you, O LORD, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. 그러자 각 가문의 장들과 이스라엘 각 지파의 족장과 천부장과 백부장과 왕실 업무 관리자들이 기꺼이 바쳤다. 그들이 하나님의 성전 건축에 쓰도록, 금 오천 달란트와, 금 만 다릭과, 은 만 달란트와, 동 만 팔천 달란트와, 쇠 십만 달란트를 바쳤다. 또 보석이 있는 사람은 저마다, 게르손 사람 여히엘이 관리하는 주님의 성전 곳간에 가져다 바쳤다. 그들이 기꺼이 주님께 예물을 바쳤으므로, 그들이 이렇게 기꺼이 바치게 된 것을, 백성도 기뻐하고, 다윗 왕도 크게 기뻐하였다. 그래서 다윗이 온 회중 앞에서 주님을 찬양하였다. "주 우리 조상 이스라엘의 하나님, 길이길이 찬양을 받아 주십시오!

Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. We are aliens and strangers in your sight, as were all our forefathers. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope. 주님, 위대함과 능력과 영광과 승리와 존귀가 모두 주님의 것입니다. 하늘과 땅에 있는 모든 것이 다 주님의 것입니다. 그리고 이 나라도 주님의 것입니다. 주님께서는 만물의 머리 되신 분으로 높임을 받아 주십시오! 부와 존귀가 주님께로부터 나오고, 주님께서 만물을 다스리시며, 주님의 손에 권세와 능력이 있으시니, 사람이 위대하고 강하게 되는 것도 주님의 손에 달렸습니다. 우리 하나님, 우리가 지금 주님께 감사하고, 주님의 영광스러운 이름을 찬양합니다. 제가 무엇이며, 저의 백성이 무엇이기에, 우리가 이렇듯이 기쁜 마음으로 바칠 힘을 주셨습니까? 모든 것을 주님께서 주셨으므로, 우리가 주님의 손에서 받은 것을 주님께 바쳤을 뿐입니다. 주님 앞에서 우리는, 우리의 모든 조상처럼, 나그네와 임시 거주민에 불과하며, 우리가 세상에 사는 날이 마치 그림자와 같아서, 의지할 곳이 없습니다.

O LORD our God, as for all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name, it comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things have I given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you. O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep this desire in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you. And give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion to keep your commands, requirements and decrees and to do everything to build the palatial structure for which I have provided." Then David said to the whole assembly, "Praise the LORD your God." So they all praised the LORD, the God of their fathers; they bowed low and fell prostrate before the LORD and the king. 주 우리 하나님, 우리가 주님의 거룩한 이름을 위하여 주님의 성전을 건축하려고 준비한 이 모든 물건은, 다 주님의 손에서 받은 것이니, 모두 다 주님의 것입니다. 나의 하나님, 주님께서는 사람의 마음을 헤아리시고, 정직한 사람을 두고 기뻐하시는 줄을 제가 압니다. 나는 정직한 마음으로 기꺼이 이 모든 것을 바쳤습니다. 이제 여기에 있는 주님의 백성이 주님께 기꺼이 바치는 것을 보니, 저도 마음이 기쁩니다. 주, 우리 조상 아브라함과 이삭과 이스라엘의 하나님, 주님의 백성이 마음 가운데 품은 이러한 생각이 언제까지나 계속되도록 지켜 주시고, 그들의 마음이 항상 주님을 향하게 해주십시오. 또 나의 아들 솔로몬에게 온전한 마음을 주셔서, 주님의 계명과 법도와 율례를 지키고, 이 모든 일을 할 수 있게 하시며, 내가 준비한 것으로 성전을 건축하게 해주십시오." 그리고 다윗은 온 회중에게 "주 당신들의 하나님을 찬양하십시오" 하고 말하였다. 그러자 온 회중이 조상의 하나님 주님을 찬양하고, 주님과 왕에게 무릎을 꿇고 경배하였다.

The next day they made sacrifices to the LORD and presented burnt offerings to him: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams and a thousand male lambs, together with their drink offerings, and other sacrifices in abundance for all Israel. They ate and drank with great joy in the presence of the LORD that day. Then they acknowledged Solomon son of David as king a second time, anointing him before the LORD to be ruler and Zadok to be priest. So Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him. All the officers and mighty men, as well as all of King David's sons, pledged their submission to King Solomon. The LORD highly exalted Solomon in the sight of all Israel and bestowed on him royal splendor such as no king over Israel ever had before. 그 다음날 백성이 주님께 제사를 드리고 또 번제를 드렸다. 수소 천 마리와 숫양 천 마리와 어린 양 천 마리와 부어 드리는 제물 등의 풍성한 제물로 온 이스라엘을 위하여 제사를 드렸다. 그 날에, 그들은 주님 앞에서 먹고 마시며, 크게 기뻐하였다. 그리고 그들은 다윗의 아들 솔로몬을 다시 왕으로 삼아 그에게 기름을 부어, 주님께서 쓰실 지도자가 되게 하고, 사독에게 기름을 부어 제사장으로 세웠다. 솔로몬이 그의 아버지 다윗의 뒤를 이어, 주님께서 허락하신 왕좌에 앉아 왕이 되었다. 그가 잘 다스렸으므로, 온 이스라엘이 그에게 순종하였다. 그리고 모든 지도자와 용사와 다윗의 다른 아들들까지도 솔로몬 왕에게 복종하였다. 주님께서, 온 이스라엘의 눈에 띄도록 솔로몬을 크게 높여 주시고, 그 이전의 어떤 이스라엘 왕도 누리지 못한 왕국의 영화를 그에게 베풀어 주셨다.

David son of Jesse was king over all Israel. He ruled over Israel forty years--seven in Hebron and thirty-three in Jerusalem. He died at a good old age, having enjoyed long life, wealth and honor. His son Solomon succeeded him as king. As for the events of King David's reign, from beginning to end, they are written in the records of Samuel the seer, the records of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer, together with the details of his reign and power, and the circumstances that surrounded him and Israel and the kingdoms of all the other lands. 이새의 아들 다윗이 온 이스라엘의 왕이 되어 이스라엘을 다스린 기간은 마흔 해이다. 헤브론에서 일곱 해를 다스리고, 예루살렘에서 서른세 해를 다스렸다. 그가 백발이 되도록 부와 영화를 누리다가, 수명이 다하여 죽으니, 그의 아들 솔로몬이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕위에 올랐다. 다윗 왕의 역사는 처음부터 끝까지, 선견자 사무엘의 기록과 선지자 나단의 기록과 선견자 갓의 기록에 다 올라 있는데, 그의 통치와 무용담 및 그와 이스라엘과 세상 모든 나라가 겪은 그 시대의 역사가 기록되어 있다.
