The LORD said to Moses: "Make two trumpets of hammered silver, and use them for calling the community together and for having the camps set out. When both are sounded, the whole community is to assemble before you at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. If only one is sounded, the leaders--the heads of the clans of Israel--are to assemble before you. When a trumpet blast is sounded, the tribes camping on the east are to set out. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 은나팔 두 개를 만들되 은을 두드려서 만들어라. 그것들은 네가 회중을 불러모을 때와 진을 출발시킬 때에 필요한 것들이다. 두 개를 한꺼번에 길게 불면, 모든 회중이 회막 어귀에 모여 너에게로 나올 것이다. 그러나 하나만 길게 불면, 지휘관들, 곧 이스라엘의 천부장들만이 너에게로 나올 것이다. 그러나 나팔을 짧게 급히 불면, 동쪽에 진을 친 부대들이 진을 뜬다.

At the sounding of a second blast, the camps on the south are to set out. The blast will be the signal for setting out. To gather the assembly, blow the trumpets, but not with the same signal. "The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come. When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the LORD your God and rescued from your enemies. Also at your times of rejoicing--your appointed feasts and New Moon festivals--you are to sound the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, and they will be a memorial for you before your God. On the twentieth day of the second month of the second year, the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle of the Testimony. Then the Israelites set out from the Desert of Sinai and traveled from place to place until the cloud came to rest in the Desert of Paran. They set out, this first time, at the LORD's command through Moses. The divisions of the camp of Judah went first, under their standard. Nahshon son of Amminadab was in command. and Eliab son of Helon was over the division of the tribe of Zebulun. Then the tabernacle was taken down, and the Gershonites and Merarites, who carried it, set out. The divisions of the camp of Reuben went next, under their standard. Elizur son of Shedeur was in command. Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai was over the division of the tribe of Simeon, and Eliasaph son of Deuel was over the division of the tribe of Gad. 그 다음에 나선 스불론 자손 지파 부대는 헬론의 아들 엘리압이 이끌었다. 뒤따라 성막 운반을 맡은 게르손 자손과 므라리 자손이 성막을 걷어 가지고 출발하였다. 다음으로는 르우벤 자손이 진의 부대기를 앞세우고, 부대별로 정렬하여 출발하였다. 르우벤 부대는 스데울의 아들 엘리술이 이끌었고, 뒤이어 따라나선 시므온 자손 지파 부대는 수리삿대의 아들 슬루미엘이 이끌었고, 그 다음에 나선 갓 자손 지파 부대는 르우엘의 아들 엘리아삽이 이끌었다.

Then the Kohathites set out, carrying the holy things. The tabernacle was to be set up before they arrived. The divisions of the camp of Ephraim went next, under their standard. Elishama son of Ammihud was in command. Gamaliel son of Pedahzur was over the division of the tribe of Manasseh, and Abidan son of Gideoni was over the division of the tribe of Benjamin. Finally, as the rear guard for all the units, the divisions of the camp of Dan set out, under their standard. Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai was in command. 뒤따라 고핫 자손들이 성막 기구들을 메고 출발하였다. 게르손 자손과 므라리 자손은 고핫 자손들이 도착하기 전에 성막을 세워야만 했다. 그 다음으로는, 에브라임 자손이 진의 부대기를 앞세우고, 부대별로 정렬하여 출발하였다. 에브라임 부대는 암미훗의 아들 엘리사마가 이끌었고, 뒤이어 따라나선 므낫세 자손 지파 부대는 브다술의 아들 가말리엘이 이끌었고, 그 다음에 나선 베냐민 자손 지파 부대는 기드오니의 아들 아비단이 이끌었다. 맨 마지막으로는, 단 자손이 진의 부대기를 앞세우고, 앞선 모든 부대의 후방 경계를 맡은 부대들이 부대별로 정렬하여 출발하였다. 단 부대는 암미삿대의 아들 아히에셀이 이끌었고,

Pagiel son of Ocran was over the division of the tribe of Asher, and Ahira son of Enan was over the division of the tribe of Naphtali. This was the order of march for the Israelite divisions as they set out. Now Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, "We are setting out for the place about which the LORD said, 'I will give it to you.' Come with us and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things to Israel." He answered, "No, I will not go; I am going back to my own land and my own people." 뒤이어 따라나선 아셀 자손 지파 부대는 오그란의 아들 바기엘이 이끌었고, 그 다음에 나선 납달리 자손 지파 부대는 에난의 아들 아히라가 이끌었다. 이것은, 이스라엘 자손이 부대별로 정렬하여 행군할 때의 행군 순서이다. 모세가 미디안 사람 르우엘의 아들 호밥에게 청하였다. 그는 모세의 장인이었다. "우리는 이제 주님께서 우리에게 주시겠다고 약속하신 곳으로 떠납니다. 장인께서도 우리와 같이 길을 떠나 주시기 바랍니다. 주님께서 이스라엘에게 잘 해주시겠다고 약속하셨으니, 우리가 장인 어른을 잘 대접해 드리겠습니다." 호밥이 모세에게 말하였다. "나는 가지 못하네. 나는 내 고향 내 친척에게로 가야 하네."

But Moses said, "Please do not leave us. You know where we should camp in the desert, and you can be our eyes. If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the LORD gives us." So they set out from the mountain of the LORD and traveled for three days. The ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them during those three days to find them a place to rest. The cloud of the LORD was over them by day when they set out from the camp. Whenever the ark set out, Moses said, "Rise up, O LORD! May your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before you." 모세가 다시 간청하였다. "제발 우리만 버려 두지 마십시오. 우리가 광야 어디에 진을 쳐야 할지, 장인 어른만큼 아는 사람이 없습니다. 그러니 장인께서는 우리의 길 안내자가 되어 주셔야 합니다. 우리와 함께 가시기만 한다면, 주님께서 우리에게 주시는 좋은 것은, 무엇이든지 장인 어른께 나누어 드리겠습니다." 그들은 주님의 산을 떠나 사흘 길을 갔다. 주님의 언약궤를 앞세우고 사흘 길을 가면서, 쉴 곳을 찾았다. 낮이 되어 그들이 진을 떠날 때면, 주님의 구름이 그들 위를 덮어 주었다. 궤가 떠날 때에 모세가 외쳤다. "주님, 일어나십시오. 주님의 원수들을 흩으십시오. 주님을 미워하는 자들을 주님 앞에서 쫓으십시오."

Whenever it came to rest, he said, "Return, O LORD, to the countless thousands of Israel." 궤가 쉴 때에도 모세가 외쳤다. "주님, 수천만 이스라엘 사람에게로 돌아오십시오."
