Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD : "I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea. The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name. Pharaoh's chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh's officers are drowned in the Red Sea. The deep waters have covered them; they sank to the depths like a stone. 그 때에 모세와 이스라엘 자손이 이 노래를 불러서 주님을 찬양하였다. "내가 주님을 찬송하련다. 그지없이 높으신 분, 말과 기병을 바다에 처넣으셨다. 주님은 나의 힘, 나의 노래, 나의 구원, 주님이 나의 하나님이시니, 내가 그를 찬송하고, 주님이 내 아버지의 하나님이시니, 내가 그를 높이련다. 주님은 용사이시니, 그 이름 주님이시다. 바로의 병거와 그 군대를 바다에 던지시니, 빼어난 장교들이 홍해에 잠겼다. 깊은 물이 그들을 덮치니, 깊은 바다로 돌처럼 잠겼다.

"Your right hand, O LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy. In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble. By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood firm like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea. "The enemy boasted, 'I will pursue, I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.' But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. 주님, 오른손이 권능으로 영광을 드러내셨습니다. 주님, 주님의 오른손이 원수를 쳐부수셨습니다. 주님께서 큰 위엄으로 주님을 대적하는 사람들을 내던지셨습니다. 주님께서 분노를 일으키셔서, 그들을 검불처럼 살라 버리셨습니다. 주님의 콧김으로 물이 쌓이고, 파도는 언덕처럼 일어서며, 깊은 물은 바다 한가운데서 엉깁니다. 원수는 말하기를 '내가 그들을 뒤쫓아 따라잡고, 약탈물을 나누며, 나의 욕망을 채우겠다. 내가 칼을 뽑아 그들을 멸망시키겠다' 합니다. 그러나 주님께서 바람을 일으키시니, 바다가 그들을 덮었고, 그들은 거센 물 속에 납덩이처럼 잠겨 버렸습니다.

"Who among the gods is like you, O LORD ? Who is like you-- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? You stretched out your right hand and the earth swallowed them. "In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling. The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will grip the people of Philistia. The chiefs of Edom will be terrified, the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling, the people of Canaan will melt away; 주님, 신들 가운데서 주님과 같은 분이 어디에 있겠습니까? 주님과 같이 거룩하시며, 영광스러우시며, 찬양받을 만한 위엄이 있으시며, 놀라운 기적을 일으키시는, 그런 분이 어디에 있겠습니까? 주님께서 오른팔을 내어미시니, 땅이 대적을 삼켜 버렸습니다. 주님께서 한결같은 사랑으로, 손수 구원하신 이 백성을 이끌어 주시고, 주님의 힘으로 그들을 주님의 거룩한 처소로 인도하여 주십니다. 이 이야기를 듣고, 여러 민족이 두려워서 떱니다. 블레셋 주민이 겁에 질려 있습니다. 에돔의 지도자들이 놀라고, 모압의 권력자들도 무서워서 떨며, 가나안의 모든 주민도 낙담합니다.

terror and dread will fall upon them. By the power of your arm they will be as still as a stone-- until your people pass by, O LORD, until the people you bought pass by. You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance-- the place, O LORD, you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, your hands established. The LORD will reign for ever and ever." When Pharaoh's horses, chariots and horsemen went into the sea, the LORD brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground. Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing. 그들이 모두 공포와 두려움에 사로잡혀 있습니다. 주님, 주님의 권능의 팔 때문에, 주님의 백성이 다 지나갈 때까지, 주님께서 속량하신 이 백성이 다 지나갈 때까지, 그들은 돌처럼 잠잠하였습니다. 주님께서 그들을 데려다가 주님의 소유인 주님의 산에 심으실 것입니다. 주님, 이 곳이 바로 주님께서 계시려고 만드신 곳입니다. 주님, 주님께서 손수 세우신 성소입니다. 주님께서 영원무궁토록 다스리실 것입니다." 바로의 군마가 그의 병거와 기병과 함께 갈라진 바다로 들어갔을 때에, 주님께서 바닷물을 돌이키셔서 그들을 덮으셨다. 그러나 이스라엘 자손은 바다 한가운데로 마른 땅을 밟고 건넜다. 그 때에, 아론의 누이요 예언자인 미리암이 손에 소구를 드니, 여인들이 모두 그를 따라 나와, 소구를 들고 춤을 추었다.

Miriam sang to them: "Sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea." Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah. ) So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, "What are we to drink?" Then Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. There the LORD made a decree and a law for them, and there he tested them. 미리암이 노래를 메겼다. "주님을 찬송하여라. 그지없이 높으신 분, 말과 기병을 바다에 던져 넣으셨다." 모세는 이스라엘을 홍해에서 인도하여 내어, 수르 광야로 들어갔다. 그들은 사흘 동안 걸어서 광야로 들어갔으나, 물을 찾지 못하였다. 마침내 그들이 마라에 이르렀는데, 그 곳의 물이 써서 마실 수 없었으므로, 그 곳의 이름을 마라라고 하였다. 이스라엘 백성은 모세에게 "우리가 무엇을 마신단 말입니까?" 하고 불평하였다. 모세가 주님께 부르짖으니, 주님께서 그에게 나무 한 그루를 보여 주셨다. 그가 그 나뭇가지를 꺾어서 물에 던지니, 그 물이 단물로 변하였다. 주님께서 그들에게 법도와 율례를 정하여 주시고, 그들을 시험하신 곳이 바로 이 곳이다.

He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you." Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water. 주님께서 말씀하셨다. "너희가, 주 너희 하나님인 나의 말을 잘 듣고, 내가 보기에 옳은 일을 하며, 나의 명령에 순종하고, 나의 규례를 모두 지키면, 내가 이집트 사람에게 내린 어떤 질병도 너희에게는 내리지 않을 것이다. 나는 주 곧 너희를 치료하는 하나님이다." 그들이 엘림에 이르렀다. 거기에는 샘이 열두 곳이나 있고, 종려나무가 일흔 그루나 있었다. 그들은 그 곳 물가에 진을 쳤다.
